Sulzer Metco Canada is the leading authority for producing nickel coated composite materials using the 'Hydromet' process. The 'Hydromet' process is a hydrometallurgy method where the nickel is uniformly reduced onto core particles in a batch operation in reduction autoclaves following the reaction equation:

Nickel Solution + Hydrogen -> Metallic Nickel + Ammonium Sulfate
 

The powder is then washed, dried, screened, analyzed and packaged.
